Mike Bloomberg's mini-me corrupt Christine Quinn who pushed through a third term using slush and intimidation is ok with Mike's pick? Watch my YouTube Christine Quinn for mayor. I have a laugh track a photo of Mike standing behind Quinn -- I ask you do you ever get the feeling Mike Bloomberg is pulling the strings? Quinn is aggressively fund raising to be mayor aka Mike's 4th term. He wants to run the city from the golf course via his puppet Quinn.

Term Limits, Vote YES -- Question 1 I posted Elizabeth Forel, animal rights activists but it applies to all us with how we have been lied to and how our communities have been crushed by NYU, Columbia University, Cooper Union and all greedy reckless developers that doesn't use higher ed as a tax shelter and supersized & crushed our neighborhoods = displacement, mass amount of infrastructure breaks

PLEASE FORWARD

This is not directly animal related -- but has a definite connection.  Because of the heavy handed extension of term limits in 2008, we were stuck with Christine Quinn and Bloomberg for another 4 years (from 2009), which meant no animal legislation would pass.

Please go to the polls on Tuesday, November 2nd and Vote yes on Question 1

If you are disgusted with politics and thought about sitting it out on Tuesday -- THINK AGAIN.

Your vote is crucial to once again return the City Charter to a two term limit for elected officials.

Vote YES on Question 1 in the Charter.

NYC voters adopted a limit of two terms for elected city officials in 1993. In 1996, voters rejected a ballot proposal to extend the limit to three terms. What about that did the City Council and Mayor Bloomberg not understand.? Yet, in 2008, under Bloomberg and Christine Quinn's heavy, heavy hand, the City Council (which always votes according the the speaker) changed the term limits law from two to three consecutive terms. This was a disgrace and its far reaching effects of betraying the trust of the people are still not known.

VOTE YES ON TUESDAY on Question 1

Voting YES will bring back the two term limit. It also will PROHIBIT the City Council from altering their own term limits and those of current elected officials. AT LAST - how good is that!!!!!

Voting no will keep the status quo.
So please go to the polls on Tuesday - they are open until 9. Let's take democracy back to the people.

Check out the voting guide you received in the mail recently. Make sure you understand how to mark the ballot because the instructions are apparently incorrect. It is really very easy -- I did it in September at the primary.

Christine Quinn protested by Gay and Straight protestors at pre-election rally at LGBT Center

Dear all:

On October 27th, a group of gay and straight New Yorkers held a protest against Christine Quinn at a pre-election rally at the LGBT Center. As usual, we asked NYers to take a critical look at Quinn's shameful record - her campaign & budget corruption, her contemptible human rights and humane voting records, her betrayals of her constituents, her dirty back room deals, including her role in the term limits fiasco, and, as someone recently posted on a blog, "herabandonment of even the pretense of progressive politics."

New people joined our ranks in response to the news this week that Quinn received the lowest score of all Manhattan Council Members on the 2010 Human Rights Report Card published by Equality Justice: http://www.dnainfo.com/20101025/harlem/east-harlem-councilwoman-gets-on-human-rights

Among the many politicians who took our information and/or looked at our posters were U.S. Congresswoman Carolyn Maloney, U.S. Congressman Jerry Nadler, NYS Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli, NYS Assembly Member Deborah Glick, and Andrew Cuomo's running mate Robert Duffy. We also had the chance to thank community activist Yetta Kurland, who is leading the fight in the courtroom and on the streets to restore a much-needed hospital at the St. Vincent's site. Quinn, who should be leading this fight for her West Side constituents, was virtually silent in the months leading up to the hospital closure (see last picture). Is that because the real estate developers who are planning a high-rise condo for the site have given her $29,700 in campaign contributions?

By all measures, this protest was a success. A few highlights:

1. Dozens of people, several of whom were skeptical of us, wanted to engage with us about why we were protesting Quinn. After speaking to us, most took our information.
2. Many people said they already agree with us: "I don't need your handout. I know all about her."
3. A few people suggested that they're willing to excuse her record simply because she's gay.
4. Two people commented that this is the second protest against Quinn they've seen in the past few weeks.
4. Oddly, one person who supports our cause said, "If you want to see her voted out of office, you need to start campaigning against her right now." And here I thought we've been doing that....

While we have not yet begun contacting the press, our protests have been covered in a couple of popular blogs:

http://joemygod.blogspot.com/2010/10/michael-bloomberg-now-that-ive-had.html

Thanks to all of the New Yorkers who participated in this protest, and thanks to anyone else who made it to the end of this long message...

On behalf of the organizers

Is the NY Post ever going to do a follow-up piece on how much Christine Quinn and her staff's defense attorneys are costing the tax payers of New York and you post it as a running ticker on the top of your website that is constantly updating itself and an App for our Iphones? Amazing that Quinn has not been indicted along with others that you can't help but wonder if she is protecting since she okayed top defense attorney's that specialize in White Collar crime as reported by The NY Post.

Christine Quinn protested by mostly Gay Protestors at Anti-Violence Project gala

On October 18, twenty New Yorkers held a protest against Christine Quinn at the Anti-Violence Project gala at the Prince George Ballroom on 27th and 5th (see pictures below). Quinn was an honorary chair of the event.

In a bit of irony, a guest of the gala attacked one of the people distributing handouts at the entrance.  This person must have momentarily forgotten that she was attending an anti-violence event.   Lucky for us, two police officers were standing 15 feet away.

Among the many LGBT luminaries who stopped to look at our signs and take our information were NYS Senator Tom Duane (see picture below) and Lambda Legal Defense Fund Executive Director Kevin Cathcart.   Guests and passers-by appeared to be intrigued by the protest and wanted to learn more about why we were there.

While most of the guests took our handout as they entered the venue, a couple dozen chose not to.     But we still had the chance to convey our messages to them by chanting loudly enough so that everyone in the reception area could hear us:  "DEMOCRACY IS NOT FOR SALE.  CHRISTINE QUINN SHOULD BE IN JAIL."

Impeach Mike Bloomberg & Christine Quinn for the great lie! Their pals laughing all the way to the bank at the expense of the people of NY

Gee, is that why Mike hired his campaign people giving them 6 figure salaries all the tax payer's expense estimated to cost us 2 mill while his republican deputy mayor Goldsmith talks about shutting fire houses? Watch my series on Mike Bloomberg & Steve Rattnerhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=30Q-UEqA04M Will Cuomo let mike's bf walk, his money manger & I believe the ditto for own of this paper & nytimes because of $ & big fund raiser for democratic party.  Cuomo says equal rights for gay marriage but how about equal rights when it comes to the law.  I believe Mike did not  declare all  his campaign expenses which is criminal, Misdemeanor A & carries jail time. Mike, Rattner, Rangel, Paterson can share a prison cell. Quinn belongs in bars too for pushing thru a 3rd term denying us a referendum & for what the great lie Mike was going to rescue the economy. It is worse unless you are Steve Rattner, finance sector, greedy corrupt developers including NYU who is trying to get the City to make Bleecker St. commercial zoning for NYU's hotel. A back room deal Bloomberg-NYU, Sexton ran down testify Mike must have 3rd term.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=30Q-UEqA04M Watch my YouTube series on Steve Rattner and Mike Bloomberg. Mike and his corrupt mini-me Christine Quinn pushed through a 3rd term because supposedly we needed his help for economic crisis but the economy is worse unless you are Mike's rich friends and developers. John Sexton, pres. of NYU runs down to testify Mike must have 3rd term and my guess back room deal, Mike is trying to help NYU make Bleecker St. commercial zoning for NYU's hotel. Corrupt, greedy and only ones laughing are Mike and friends all the way to the bank at the expense of the people of NY.
